A Letter To My Son On His Birthday. When you were growing up I felt blessed and lucky as any father would with two healthy boys, and more with that, we all shared a passion for football. I was privledged to share that part of your life and to manage the team and to get to know your friends and to watch you flourish as a player. Sometimes you would infuriate me with your laid back attitude but you wanted a simple, uncomplicated life and I realised that as long as you were happy, that was all that mattered. I wish I had been in your life as you got older, and been part of the ups and downs. I would like to have got to known Clare, the women that brought you so much happiness. However, I am grateful that I got to see you before you died. The past was put behind us in an instant. If only this had happened sooner. Well, son, you are at peace now and no longer in pain. I didn't want you to go, but it hurt me to see you in pain. It still isn't right that you died before me and I just want you to know that, I really miss you son, I really miss you. Love Dad x
